It’s hard to say, actually. It definitely depends on what you’re trying to cut out. you may want to go in closer if the object is slightly blurry/out of focus. You can always soften the edge again later. For feathering I like to stick to the lowest number possible just because the tool’s effect can give an unnatural look when overused. I started using the pen tool after my mom showed me that it was better than the magnetic lasso tool. Thanks mom.
